celebrated,
knowing the seasons of earth govern
the harvest.

nature awakens
days are longer and warm
sunshine brings us
outside to play
in the woods
stuff the wicker basket full
of chicken salad sandwiches
iced tea and cakes
time for a picnic
trees are redressed in shades of green
flowers wow us
color reigns
and we love it.
tie ribbons of bright color
in tree limbs
fashion garlands
of local flowers
or silks
to cover a small tree trunk
plant a tree
pot marigolds
dance and whirl
waving a sparkler wand
make it personal
